When you can't be who you are around people you love and trust, then you are struggling with your truth. Ask yourself this: Why does ____'s opinion matter to me? Why should I have to be uncomfortable or awkward in ____'s presence?

It's easy to get wrapped up in people's impression which often lead to a interpersonal crisis. Because we want to be liked by others, we pretend and do things unrelated to our innate character. We should live without the fear of someone's opinion.

We have to learn mindfulness and acceptance of our naked self.  If someone doesn't support the person you are and they decide to walk away, let them. They were no longer meant to remain in your life. Once you reveal your true self, people will show you how they really feel about you in return. People's thoughts of you are just that, a thought. And who cares what that is, as long as you know who you are.
