CARE | Be Concerned.
Care π | Self-Care
Self care is treating, understanding, loving, accepting, forgiving, being gentle, and concerned about your well-being. It's exactly what it sounds like, taking care of yourself.
"When people take care of their health, they become their best friend." - Maya Angelou
Choose self care this year in 2021. Take a step back to just be. Be in the moment, live in the moment. Live for you, so you may be better for your loved ones. Spend time alone. Say "no," and be comfortable with it. You don't always have to do something with your friends. Put yourself first. Set boundaries and stay at home if you like to. Make yourself the priority.
Ask for help when you need to, it's okay to have questions. Be not afraid to seek assistance. Call, text, email, voice/video message whomever with your inquiry. Everyone needs help with something because no one is perfect.
"We need to do a better job of putting ourselves higher on our own 'to do' list." - Michelle Obama
Don't know where to start? Start with the obvious, pampering yourself with a manicure/pedicure, massage, and/or facials. Consider counseling if you think you need it. Contact a friend or family member you haven't spoken to in months. Go fishing, camping, or for a walk/run. Stretch your body. Do yoga. Enjoy nature. Stare at the clouds. Sit at the lake. Admire the stars. Light a candle. Soak in your tub. Breathe heavily or take deep breaths. Eat or sit in silence if you want to. Take a nap. Paint a picture, color in/out side the lines, write a letter, sing a song out loud, dance freely, or read a book. Express yourself the best way you know how. Play a game. Do a puzzle or word search. Listen to music or positive affirmations. πLearn something new. Teach someone something. Hug someone. Let your hair down. Put your hair up. Dress up. Dress down. Meditate. Pray. Laugh. Smile. Let go of grudges. Forgive someone. Create a daily routine that works for you. Guide your own relaxation. Give yourself the care you deserve because no one else will care if you don't. Take care!
